Call for Papers

Process mining originally focused on discovering and analyzing workflows executed by multiple resources, related to single processes and groups of process participants. A growing trend is emerging that shifts this perspective towards understanding how individuals interact with diverse processes across multiple systems.  However, initiatives to approach this topic are heavily scattered.

This workshop is aimed at introducing the topic and significance of “Personal and Human-Centric Process Mining”. We will discuss recent studies around this topic and highlight challenges in using process mining in this area, e.g., related to collecting the data, analyzing it and visualizing the results.

Sub-topics include, but are not limited to:

• Innovative data collection methods for personal workflows (e.g., desktop activity logs, application usage, wearable device data).
• Privacy-preserving algorithms and ethical considerations for analyzing personal data.
• Integration of personal and organizational process insights.
• Applications in personal productivity, well-being, and behavior optimization.
• User-centric visualization and interaction techniques for personal and human-centric process insights.
• Interpretation and decision-making based on personal and human-centric process mining insights.
• Legal and regulatory challenges in handling personal and human-centric process data.
• Downsides of personal and human-centric process mining, e.g., emergence of worker surveillance.

We invite authors to submit a paper of 5 pages maximum (including references), in which they include:

• A particular use case of personal and human-centric process mining.
• A motivation for why this is an applicable and valuable use case.
• A description of the proposed approach.
